‘Draft budget reflects Executive’s commitment to supporting public services most in need’ – Brogan

Sinn Féin MLA Nicola Brogan has welcomed today’s draft budget agreed by the Executive.

The West Tyrone MLA said:

“I welcome the agreement by the Executive today on the draft budget.

“As a result of the strong negotiation carried out by Finance Minister Caoimhe Archibald with the British Treasury on the Fiscal Framework, this budget includes an additional £248 million that would have previously not been available.

“The funding allocations in the budget reflect the Executive’s commitment to funding those public services most in need to ensure they continue to deliver for communities here.

“We have seen increases across the board for departments, with health again prioritised to continue with the transformation of our health service.

“I want to endorse the finance minister’s call for this to be the last single-year budget and her intention to move towards multi-year budgeting which can help departments plan investment in public services over the longer term.” CRÍOCH/ENDS
