Dillon welcomes extension of Nexus contract

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has welcomed the extension of Nexus NI’s contract to provide specialist counselling services for victims of sexual abuse and violence.

Linda Dillon said:

“I welcome confirmation from the Department of Health that Nexus NI’s contract will be extended for another year.

“This will ensure that specialist counselling services for victims of sexual abuse and violence are protected, and support will continue to be available.

“Tackling violence against women and girls and sexual abuse is an absolute priority for us all in the Assembly and Executive, therefore it is vital that the specialist services that Nexus deliver are available to support victims.

“I will continue to work with the health minister and Nexus on the need for a long-term plan to ensure specialist counselling services continue into the future.”
