Dillon thanks Nexus on their 40th anniversary

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has welcomed the passing of a motion congratulating Nexus on its 40th anniversary.

Linda Dillon said:

“I welcome the passing of a motion thanking Nexus on its 40th anniversary.

“Nexus is an invaluable organisation offering support and hope for children and adults who have suffered sexual abuse.

“The organisation provides services for anyone aged 8 years and older who have experienced abuse, and also support local organisations to deliver training and awareness building

“Tackling abuse is a priority for the Assembly and Executive.

“Understanding abuse through education and training is essential to helping to prevent sexual abuse.

“I will continue to work with the health minister and Nexus on the need for a long-term plan to ensure specialist counselling services continue into the future.”
