Sinn Féin TD for Dublin North West, Dessie Ellis, has welcomed that planning permission has been granted for the construction of the long-awaited primary care facility in Finglas.
Deputy Ellis said that the commencement of work at the site of the former Church of the Assumption would represent a major milestone for local residents, who have for years campaigned on this issue.
Teachta Ellis said:
“I welcome that planning permission has been granted for the construction of the primary care facility in Finglas on the site of the former Church of the Assumption.
“This is a long time coming for the people of Finglas, and the residents who have for years campaigned on the need for such a facility, a campaign supported since day one by Sinn Féin.
“We have seen shocking increases in the number of people languishing on waiting lists in recent years. This is exactly why communities like ours need primary care facilities.
“A facility like this is very necessary so that the people of Finglas have access to the care that they need when they need it, and within their own community.”
