Delargy welcomes progress on Derry residents’ parking schemes

Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has welcomed an announcement from Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd committing to progressing residents’ parking schemes in Derry.

The Foyle MLA said:

“This is a hugely positive announcement for the residents of the Bogside and Northland Road areas, and one which these communities have waited on for many years.

“The residents’ parking schemes will reduce commuter parking in our streets and enable people to park outside of their homes.

“Over a number of years we have worked closely with residents to make sure that their voices are heard. I have already been in touch with the departmental team overseeing this project to ensure the voices of residents are paramount.

“I welcome this positive announcement from the minister and look forward to seeing both schemes progress further.”
