Cruinniú ag MacManus le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta

Cruinniú ag MacManus le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta

Bhí an Feisire Eorpach de chuid Shinn Féin, Chris MacManus, i gConamara lena chomhghleacaí Mairéad Farrell TD do chruinniú le Rónán Mac Con Iomaire agus Mark de Faoite ó Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Tar éis an chruinniú labhair MacManus ar an tábhacht a bhaineann le hinfheistiú i gceantair Ghaeltachta

Dúirt MacManus :

‘Mo mhíle buíochas don fhoireann in Údarás na Gaeltachta as an gcruinniú seo a eagrú. Léirigh an cruinniú seo an tábhacht a bhaineann lenár gceantair Ghaeltachta agus chomh maith le sin, cé chomh tábhachtach atá sé chun infheistíocht a dhéanamh i fostaíocht agus i seirbhísí sna ceantair seo.

‘Bhí mé an-tógtha leis an bhéim a bhí ar fhorbairt pobail, le grúpaí pobail ag glacadh páirt mór i tionscadal a bhaineann le turasóireachta, moil dhigiteacha agus an próiseas pleanála teanga sa Ghaeltacht. Caithfimid tacú lenár bpobail Ghaeltachta chun cinntiú go mbeidh páirt lárnach acú i bhforbairt eacnamaíoch, shóisialta agus chultúrtha a gceantair áitiúla agus tá sé ríthábhachtach go mbeadh an tÚdarás ag obair lámh le lámh leis an bpobail san iarracht seo.

‘Táimid i Sinn Féin tiomáinte chun an fód a sheasamh ar son an Ghaeltacht agus an Ghaeilge, agus mar Fheisire Eorpach, tá mise ag iarraidh mo chuid a dhéanamh chun todhchaí níos fearr a chinntiú don Ghaeltacht agus dár dteanga.

MacManus Meets with Údarás na Gaeltachta

Sinn Féin MEP Chris MacManus recently visited Connemara with his colleague Mairéad Farrell TD for a meeting with Rónán Mac Con Iomaire and Mark de Faoite from Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Speaking after the meeting, MacManus highlighted the importance of investing in Gaeltacht areas.

MacManus said:

‘My thanks to the team in Údarás na Gaeltachta for hosting this meeting. Our discussion really highlighted the importance of our Gaeltacht communities, but also the importance of investing in jobs and services in these areas.

‘I was impressed with the focus on community development, with community groups playing a leading role in projects related to tourism, digital hubs and the language planning process in the Gaeltacht. We must support our Gaeltacht communities so they can play an active role in the economic, social and cultural development of their local areas and to this end it is vital that Údaras na Gaeltachta is working hand in hand with the community.

‘We in Sinn Féin are determined to stand up for the Gaeltacht and the Irish language and as an MEP I want to do my part to ensure a better future for the Gaeltacht and the Irish language. ENDS
