‘Council should reaffirm commitment to Ebrington transfer’ – Jackson

Sinn Féin councillor Christopher Jackson has said the party will bring a motion to Derry & Strabane Council to ensure the early transfer of management of Ebrington to council.

Christopher Jackson said:

“The Ebrington site is a key economic driver for the city, hosting some of the world’s biggest music and cultural events and a home to thriving and successful local businesses. Its potential is enormous.

“The collective focus of everyone in the city must be on maximising Ebrington’s undoubted potential to create jobs, attract investment and to host major events.

“Sinn Féin will bring a motion to Derry & Strabane Council to ensure the earliest possible transfer of management of the site from the Executive Office to council.

“Council officers should now urgently engage with the Executive Office so that the local council can provide effective management of events at Ebrington Square.

“Every avenue will be explored to deliver successful events at Ebrington Square in 2024.”
