“Change starts in European & Local Elections” – MEP Chris MacManus submits nomination papers
Sinn Féin candidate for Midlands Northwest in the European elections Chris MacManus has today submitted his nomination papers in Galway.
The incumbent MEP MacManus said:
“Today I was delighted to submit my nomination papers alongside my colleague, friend and running mate Michelle Gildernew, to officially begin our campaign for the European election.
“I know that people across Midlands Northwest are seeking change on a national level and I think that change starts here with the European and local elections taking place on 7th June.”
“These elections are taking place at a time when Ireland is facing many challenges – an ongoing housing crisis, a health service that is at breaking point and a cost of living crisis. Voting for Sinn Féin in this election is the first step to getting this disastrous government out of office.”
“These elections are an opportunity for people to have their say on the change they want to see in Ireland and in Europe.”
“We have a government that is out of touch, that doesn’t understand the challenges we are facing, doesn’t have the ideas or the capacity to fix them. That same government is too deferential to the European Union and happy to see Ireland’s neutrality wither away under Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen.”
MacManus said the people of Midlands Northwest have a strong Sinn Féin team to vote for. “I am proud to be running alongside Michelle Gildernew in Midlands Northwest. We will work together along with a strong team of Sinn Féin MEPs to stand up for you and your family on the issues that matter.”
“This election is an opportunity to deliver the change that is needed. By voting for Sinn Féin, you are voting for hard working MEPs committed to delivering change. MEPs who will stand up for Ireland.” ENDS
