Brogan hails Strule campus funding announcement as ‘day of great progress’

Sinn Féin MLA Nicola Brogan has welcomed the announcement from the Executive of £150 million worth of funding for the Strule shared education campus.

The West Tyrone MLA said:

“This is welcome news and a day of great progress for people West of the Bann as the Executive has committed to funding the Strule campus.

“The shared education campus will bring over 4,000 young people together from across the community, learning alongside each other in world-class educational facilities. 

“Sinn Féin has long campaigned for this major project to be delivered for the benefit of young people and families across Omagh and West Tyrone.

“I will continue working with all parties to ensure the visionary and ambitious Strule campus is delivered as it will be a game changer for young people in West Tyrone and beyond.”

Following a meeting with the families of the Stardust tragedy this morning, @MaryLouMcDonald has said that "a full state apology to the families must be made now, and it must address the systematic failure over 43 years".
