British Government should get on with delivering fair pay for workers – Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said the British Government should get on with delivering fair pay for public sector workers without delay.

The party’s economy spokesperson said:

“Public sector workers deserve fair pay and safe working conditions.

“While one party continues with its blockade, savage Tory cuts have denied fair pay rises to local workers in health, education and other frontline public services.

“In the absence of a functioning Executive, the British government should get on with delivering a fair deal for public sector workers without delay. It’s the least they deserve.

“Workers should not have to spend another freezing cold winter on picket lines. They should have fair pay and conditions.

“Public sector workers cannot wait. We need an Executive restored without delay and all parties working together to deliver for workers and families.”
