All-island research programmes can improve lives – O’Dowd

Sinn Féin MLA John O’Dowd has welcomed £30 million worth of funding for all-Ireland research projects.

The Upper Bann MLA said the funding would enable universities across Ireland to work together to improve people’s lives.

John O’Dowd said:

“I welcome funding for 62 all-island research projects on a range of areas, including cancer treatment and tackling youth crime.

“The funding will enable universities, colleges and academics from across Ireland to work together to improve people’s lives.

“Sinn Féin has long promoted greater collaboration between institutions north and south and it is fantastic to see this in action.

“We will continue working to ensure commitments made in New Decade, New Approach for an all-island research hub and investment in the northwest are delivered.”
