Conor Murphy is a senior member of Sinn Féin nationally, a Finance Minister who delivers for the people and a com– mitted local activist. Conor gives South Armagh a voice across the whole Island.
He began representing the people of our area in 1989 as a Councillor and since then has worked hard to deliver for the area as an assembly minister and as the first abstentionist MP for this constituency.
As an integral part of the Sinn Féin negotiating team, Conor has played a role in delivering on many major political agreements over the past 20 years, most recently in June when negotiating with the British Government on Acht Na Gaeilge.
During his time as Regional Development Minister, Conor oversaw the delivery of the Newry Bypass and train station. Now, as finance minister, Conor has delivered millions in financial supports to businesses and families across Newry and Armagh throughout the pandemic.
Conor believes that Irish Unity will unlock the potential of the Island economy and in particular that a United Ireland will ensure that the border region which he represents becomes an engine of industry, commerce and tourism.
