Caoimhe Archibald has served as MLA for East Derry since May 2016. She is the current Chair of the Assembly’s Economy Committee.
Prior to election she worked in agri-food research having completed a BSc (hons) and PhD at Queen’s University and PG Diploma in Management and Corporate Governance at Ulster University.
As Sinn Féin economy spokesperson, Caoimhe has worked with Sinn Féin ministers to support workers, families and businesses through the Covid pandemic.
Caoimhe has worked as part of Sinn Féin’s all-island team to deliver protections for businesses, workers and families against the impact of Brexit
Caoimhe’s priorities for East Derry are delivering more and better jobs, providing education and training opportuni– ties particularly for young people, affordable housing including in rural communities, and access to health services. Caoimhe will work to ensure the Protocol’s unique opportunities are maximised to create jobs and investment, and strengthen the all-island economy.
