‘Work to resettle patients from Muckamore must continue at pace’ – Dillon

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has called on the Health Minister to work closely with families, carers and patients of Muckamore Abbey Hospital.

Speaking after the minister signalled a short extension to the original June closure date, the party’s social care spokesperson said:

”The work to resettle patients from Muckamore Abbey Hospital must continue at pace.

“Vulnerable patients and their families deserve the clarity and security of a permanent, supportive environment.

“The Health Minister must now work closely with families and carers to establish a definitive closure date for Muckamore.

“And he should continue to update the Assembly on the progress to ensure transparency, accountability and safety for patients.”
