Narrow Water Bridge will be transformative – Hazzard

Sinn Féin’s Westminster candidate for South Down, Chris Hazzard, has said the Narrow Water Bridge project will be key to unlocking the huge potential across South Down.

Speakingafter meeting with An Taoiseach at the site of the bridge where work begins today, Chris Hazzard said:

“Today is a positive step for the people of South Down, with the first sod being cut for the Narrow Water Bridge project.

“The Narrow Water Bridge represents a unique opportunity for the wider Carlingford Lough area, in sustainably connecting communities and driving regional development.

“A project that is key to unlocking South Down’s huge tourism potential, this project will undoubtedly support local businesses, create job opportunities, and strengthen the local economy.

“Narrow Water Bridge has been a priority for Sinn Féin for years. And I am delighted that after a long campaign, we have finally reached this stage.

“I will continue working to ensure this project is delivered as soon as possible.”
