Ferguson welcomes publication of ‘long awaited’ housing supply strategy

Sinn Féin spokesperson on housing Ciara Ferguson has welcomed the publication of the long awaited housing supply strategy.
The Foyle MLA said:
“I welcome the long awaited publication of the housing plan today by Minister Lyons and I want to commend the work that has gone into this including the initial plans brought forward by the previous Minister, Deirdre Hargey.
“Sinn Féin have consistently called for a transformation in our housing system to allow the Housing Executive to start building homes again, at scale and for these homes to meet the needs of people with disabilities, our ageing population and children and young people.
“There is also a range of challenges facing renters, homeowners and first time buyers and we must work together to ensure that they are supported.
“That is why we must work to deliver safe, decent, social and affordable housing as a priority.
“Sinn Féin will continue working with all the Executive parties to ensure the delivery of over 100,000 much-needed homes over the next 15 years.”
