Paul Gavan, from Limerick, has been a Sinn Féin member for over 20 years, and Senator for the last 8. A champion for workers all his life, he successfully introduced The Protection of Employee Tips Bill in the Seanad to secure payment of tips to service workers. Paul was a full time official for the SIPTU trade union for 10 years where he worked in Organising and Communications. He is married to Ursula and they have 3 adult children living at home.
